Nav Chandi Puja at Your Home

Perform your Nav Chandi Puja at your home with Pandit Ramayan Shastri, who has over 20 years of experience and has performed more than 15,000 Vedic Pujas. The Puja includes the complete Durga Saptashati Path, sacred Havan, and authentic rituals performed with devotion according to the traditional Vedic method.

About the Puja

When Goddess Durga enters your home

Worship performed within one’s own home holds a unique significance. Here, the Divine is not invoked in a distant temple, a place visited only briefly before returning, but is instead invited into the very home where your family eats, rests, laughs, plays, and grows together. Rituals and prayers become an integral part of your daily life, and when performed correctly, the energy generated by them lingers in the space long after the priest has departed.

Nav Chandi Puja is one of the most powerful forms of worship dedicated to Shakti (Goddess Durga). This ritual involves the complete recitation of the Durga Saptashati (Chandi Path) nine times, accompanied by a sacred Havan, and invokes all the forms of the Divine Mother. Families perform this puja for protection, removal of deep and old obstacles, happiness and prosperity, blessings for the new home and spiritual purification that cannot be achieved through smaller or ordinary rituals.

Unlike simple devotional prayers, Navchandi Puja follows strict Vedic procedures. To receive the blessings of Goddess Durga, it is important to perform every mantra, puja material, and ritual with complete precision. Therefore, it is recommended that the worship be conducted by an experienced Vedic pandit. Book Pandit Ramayan Shastri to perform ‘Nav Chandi Puja’ (which includes Durga Saptashati recitation and Nav Chandi Havan) at your home as per traditional Vedic rituals.

Understanding the Ritual

What is Nav Chandi Puja?

Navchandi Puja is a very powerful Vedic ritual dedicated to Goddess Durga in her form of Chandi. It is performed to invoke divine strength, remove obstacles in life, destroy negative forces, and restore balance, success, and protection in life.

The Navchandi Puja is centered around the complete recitation of the Durga Saptashati, also known as the Nav Chandi Path. It consists of 700 sacred verses along with a Navchandi Havan/Navchandi Yagna. When performed together, these rituals are said to invoke an intense Shakti that acts swiftly and decisively.

In various traditions, it is also known as Nav Chandi Yajna, Nav Chandi Havan, or Nav Chandi Homam. The names may be different, but the depth and purpose of this ritual is the same: to fully invoke the presence of the Mother Goddess and establish her blessings in your home.

SCRIPTURAL ORIGINS

Origins of Navchandi Puja

The origins of Navchandi Puja go as far back as ancient Hindu scriptures, in particular, the Markandeya Purana. The scriptures narrate the brave battles of Goddess Durga against powerful demonic forces. They symbolized the triumph of divine energy over chaos, ignorance, and injustice. If we look at it historically, the Nav Chandi Path was performed by kings, warriors, and rulers before any major battles and wars.

Over the centuries, the Navchandi Havan transitioned from royal rituals to household worship, typically performed during Navratri. It is when divine feminine energy is believed to be the most accessible.

Puja Procedure

Step-by-Step Nav Chandi Puja Process

Guruji and his team arrive at your home before the scheduled auspicious time and begin the preparations and setup. The entire ritual unfolds as follows:

1

Mandap Setup and Space Purification

The puja mandap is set up in a clean and open space in your home. Before starting any ritual, the place is purified with Ganga water and special mantras.

2

Kalash Sthapana

A copper or earthen kalash (a sacred vessel filled with water, mango leaves, and coconut) is established, symbolizing the presence of the divine mother.

3

Ganesh Puja

To ensure that religious rituals are completed without any obstacles, Lord Ganesha is invoked first. No Vedic ritual begins without this invocation.

4

Navagraha Puja

All nine planets are addressed to establish astrological balance and clear the space for the goddess’s full invocation.

5

Durga Saptashati — Nine Complete Recitations

The main part of this ceremony is that Guruji recites all 13 chapters of Durga Saptashati (Chandi Path) nine times in full with correct pronunciation, rhythm, and feeling. This is what makes Nav Chandi Puja special.

6

Nav Chandi Havan

A sacred fire ritual (havan or homam) is performed, in which special offerings—such as ghee, sesame seeds, barley, red flowers, and aromatic herbs—are offered to the goddess through the fire.

7

Kumari Puja (Optional)

Young girls are honored as living forms of the goddess, a traditional element of Nav Chandi Puja that is spiritually deeply meaningful if your family wishes to include it.

8

Nav Durga Aarti and Prasad

The ceremony concludes with Durga Aarti, distribution of Prasad to all family members and Guruji’s guidance on post-puja rituals and continued Shakti-puja for the family.
